Huge Day!

So I haven't had an entry in quite a few months, really since we moved. Things have gotten pretty crazy though....we moved in, got married in June, our basement is almost completed and my wife is pregnant! Life has been good and crazy the last six, eight months!!!

Collecting TTM and in general has been slowed since the spring, but a couple of things have really pumped up my collection the last few months. In August, I went to the Sox picnic and added about 50 signatures to my collection, including a few for my 2005 Topps WS Commemorative project and several for my Topps Sox projects. Plus, the picnic itself was a blast and meeting several of the players made it an awesome event that I plan on returning to annually! Maybe with my daughters next year...

Then, yesterday, my buddy Chuck and I made several trades that made my projects much easier than before! I was able to add seven completed 2005 Topps WS cards and two incomplete cards (need one more on each!), then I was able to add ten more cards for my Topps projects (toughies too, a Fisk, Thomas, and Ventura!). Not only that, but I was also able to acquire a 1966 Topps Don Buford which completes my 1966 Topps set! It was an awesome day that made a huge dent in some of my project needs (plus added a Tommy Cruz for my since '59 project). It didn't come cheaply though, I had to barter a Bo Jackson TriStar ball, Feller HOF plaque, Aparicio cert., a multi-signed 79T Sox rookie and a Gwynn UD card among others...I know that stuff will mean more to Chuck than to me, and the stuff I got in return will probably mean more to me than to him, so I would do the deal a thousand times over! Thanks Chuck!

Also, I had several awesome 50/50s and consignments this summer via several members on SCN that really augmented my collection as well and helped me complete the Sox 2010 Topps Debut and nearly complete the 2011 Topps Debut team sets. So overall, things have been slow, but when things hit, things hit big for the collection and projects!

Hopefully the 1966 Topps set pics are posted by now...
